A sculptural figure bent forward, with long needles embedded in its back. Candles are fixed to the tips of the needles; as they burn, wax melts and flows down the surface. The form references classical spiked candelabras, reworked into a bodily structure. Instead of placing the piece in a gallery, it was staged in a residential entryway, shifting the tone from ceremonial to informal. The work functions as a material study of symbolic forms placed in a lived, urban setting — holding their shape, but slightly off-balance. |
